Rethinking justice: A path to growth
Explore the challenges young people face and discover a new approach to justice. This page aims to inspire empathy, encourage critical thinking, and highlight how we can foster a system that truly allows individuals to grow.

Criminalization of youth: A critical look
Many young individuals find themselves entangled in the criminal justice system due to circumstances beyond their control. Growing up in environments where gang culture is prevalent or where basic needs are unmet can lead to actions driven by survival, not malice. We challenge the notion of criminalizing these actions without considering the root causes. Is incarceration truly solving the problem, or are we perpetuating a cycle of hardship?

A new approach: The "Growing Up" program
We believe there is a better way. The "Growing Up" program proposes a diversion initiative for young people, and anyone willing to commit to personal development. Participants will dedicate at least one to two years working for a non-profit, gaining valuable experience and contributing positively to society. Our goal is to establish a non-profit that generates enough income to provide participants with livable wages, fostering true independence and growth.

Building a better future, together
The "Growing Up" program is more than just employment; it's about building a foundation for a better future. We invite individuals and organizations to offer resources like trade classes, skill-building workshops, and mentorship. If you find the stories of those we highlight compelling, we encourage you to reach out and offer your support. We must stop criminalizing our youth and citizens, and instead, empower them to thrive.
"The criminal justice system needs a complete overhaul. This program offers a real chance for change and a brighter future for our youth."
